The Opportunity The Director for Children & Youth Ministry position encompassing Christian education, fellowship, and service for children ages pre-K through high school, ideally to start this August, 2025.
Key Responsibilities
● Selecting and programming pre-K through high school curriculum in collaboration with the Christian Education Committee and the Senior Minister;
● Recruiting for, teaching, and coordinating weekly Sunday school classes, leading youth programming, and directing some Saturday events with the help of volunteers;
● Resourcing a monthly meeting with the Christian Education Committee or other church committees as needed; and
● Creating communications and social media content for families both in the church and the wider community
Requirements
● Bachelor’s degree;
● Experience teaching;
● Protestant church background; and
● Unwavering dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion of all persons, including queer and transgender persons, at every level
Skills & Attributes for Success
● Passion for working with young people across age groups;
● Ability to recruit and coordinate volunteers; and
● Desire to make faith connections and spark curiosity and creativity in others
Hours
20 hours per week, 40 weeks/year (mid-August through mid-May), including roughly 5 hours required on-site on Sunday mornings and 1 evening meeting/month. Other hours may be split between working on-site and remotely.
Compensation & Benefits $20,000/year; vacation time (2 weeks/year); and earned sick time.
