I hope you will join us on Sunday, September 8 for our Grand Re-Opening Sunday! This is the Sunday where we will start up our programs that have taken a vacation over the summer. We will have a blessing of the Backpacks for anyone who carries a backpack in their daily lives. You'll all get a special something to remind you of the church's love and prayers for you throughout the year. Bring your backpack to church and put it on the chancel steps so we can bless them during Children's Circle.
This Sunday is a Communion Sunday so families worship together - Kindergarten children can join the littles in the Childcare room if they would like. Students in 1st grade and above remain with their families. We will begin Sunday School registration before and after worship in the Narthex. Please remember that ALL children and youth need an updated registration for each program year, September-August.
I want to invite you all - children, youth, and parents - to walk through our new classrooms after worship. We are preparing for our first day of Sunday School on September 15 and we have great new spaces!
Beginning this Sunday we have a new Childcare Room available during worship, staffed by 2 professional, adult babysitters from Mother's Helpers out of Ashland, MA. This room is available to all infants, toddlers, and pre-k children from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM - enough time to drop kids off and let them settle in before worship and to get coffee before picking kids up. On the first Sunday of the month, when children remain in worship to celebrate Communion, Kindergarten-age children are also welcome to use the Childcare room.
To start our year successfully, we rely on the help of our community to serve as teachers and chaperones for our family and youth programs.
We will be holding a TEACHER TRAINING on Sunday, September 15, at 11:30. We recommend that if your children participate in Sunday School or Youth Group, at least one adult from the family attends training.
I'm looking forward to this year together and the wonderful moments of learning, playing, and praying together that are in store for us!
