High School Youth Ministry
MISSION & SERVICE WEEK
June 24-28, 2019
Students in grades 9-12 during the 2018-2019 school year are invited to participate in this local mission week. We will participate in day-trips for service, learning, and fellowship. Come for one day or for the whole week! Our work will be focused on environmental justice as part of the fullness of God's justice. Work days are scheduled between 9am to 5pm, approximately, including travel and lunch time, and all will take place in the Greater Boston, South Shore, and Cape Cod areas. Fees are covered by the funds raised throughout the year for our youth mission and service work (except for waterpark-only participants). See form below to sign up!

Monday, June 24
BEACH CLEAN-UP Plymouth, MA We'll serve local wildlife by cleaning up beaches and trails in Plymouth, MA. We will eat lunch at the beach. Meet at NeedhamUCC @ 9am (return ETA @ 4:30pm). Please wear closed-toe shoes and bring work gloves. |
Tuesday, June 25
SUSTAINABLE FARMING Newton, MA We'll get in the dirt at the Newton Community Farm and learn about their program and practices. Please wear closed-toe shoes, clothes you can get dirty, and bring work gloves. Begin in the garden at the church before heading to Newton Farm. 9am-4pm |

SUSTAINABLE FARMING Needham, MA We'll learn about sustainable farming from a community perspective on our town's local farm. Lunch will be eaten in town at Hearth Pizzeria. Meet at NeedhamUCC @ 8:15am. Please wear closed-toe shoes and bring work gloves. Additional waiver required for the farm. |
Thursday, June 27
BLUE HILLS TRAIL CLEANUP Milton, MA We'll learn about local wildlife at the nature center and help cleanup trails. We'll eat lunch at the park and potentially move to a different site in the afternoon. Meet at NeedhamUCC @ 8:15am (return ETA @ 4pm). Please wear closed-toe shoes and bring work gloves. |

WATERPARK DAY!
Castaway Island at Canobie Lake Park, Salem, NH
There is no cost if you participate in at least ONE service day; waterpark-only participants: $65. Includes park admission, lunch, transportation, and t-shirt. Meet at NeedhamUCC @ 9am to leave for the park (return ETA @ 5pm). Rain date: Monday, July 1.
